What is Crawler or a Spider?
A crawler or a spider is a software of search engine which scans or crawls all the web pages linked to the website.

1- Crawling
Crawling is the process in which search engines send out their bots (known as crawlers or spiders) to find new and updated content. Content can be a web page, an image, a video, a doc file, etc. — but every content is discovered by links.
Google-bot starts their journey by fetching a few web pages and then they find some other links on those web pages, so they crawl to that pages also to find new URLs. By hopping along this path of links, the crawler is able to find new content and add it to their index called Caffeine — a massive database of discovered URLs.
2- Indexing
When the bots complete their scan they store all the information in the data center. Data centers are huge, purpose-built collections of servers that act as a repository of all the copies of web pages being made by the crawlers. You can understand indexing by the first page of the book which contains all chapter information with their page number, hence you can easily identify that on which page no which chapter is.
Technically, Indexing is the process of organizing the masses of data and pages so they can be searched quickly for relevant results to your search query.
3- Ranking
Search Engine provides the result of a search query that will best answer a searcher’s query, which means that results are ordered by most relevant to least relevant.
When you input some string to the search engine it is likely that more than one page contains the same search string, so the search engine starts calculating the relevancy of each of the pages in its index to the search string. The best matching web page with relevant Title, Description, Keywords with good SEO appears to top in the SERP.
